Our Favorite Cocktail
Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall we are always ready for a Cosmopolitan.
The drink made famous by Carrie Bradshaw and her Sex and the City gal pals, is widely known as a modern invention.
A Cosmopolitan Daisy recipe appeared in Pioneers of Mixing at Elite Bars 1903–1933, published in 1934, but this recipe contains gin (not vodka) and raspberry syrup instead of cranberry.
We love drinking a Cosmo from a delicate martini glass, but it is important to note this drink is not a martini.
This is how we make ours:
INGREDIENTS:
2.5 oz Gey Goose vodka
1.0 oz Cointreau
1.0 oz cranberry juice
0.5 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
finely crushed ice chips
orange peel for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and fresh lime juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until icy cold. Strain into a cold martini glass and finish with a teaspoon of finely crushed ice chips. Garnish glass rim with an orange peel. Pour into chilled martini glass and enjoy.
CHEERS!
